BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION: In Mixing Mode

BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION have finished recording their sophomore album, tentatively titled "13 Acres", and are scheduled to begin mixing the effort today (May 1) for a summer release via Sanctuary Records.

The follow-up to last year's "Here Come the Brides", "13 Acres" was recorded in part at a studio in Malibu, California with producer Andy Johns, who has previously worked with guitarist Tracii Guns on the L.A. GUNS' "Waking the Dead" album (which Guns has referred to as "my favorite L.A. GUNS record."). Johns was reportedly involved with the album during its early recording stages but ended up leaving the project due to unspecified differences with Guns and the rest of the band.

Commented Tracii: "This record overall is a lot heavier than I expected musically, and I think that London [LeGrand, vocals], without taking a ton of direction from 'outside sources,' sounds stunningly amazing and original, except on 'So Long', which [drummer Scot Coogan] sings. More so than our first record we were able to really take everybody in the band's collective influences and explode through with a solid identity and a healthy dose of adrenaline that will make this an excellent record to get speeding tickets to while listening in your vehicle."
